Shannon's Journey into Filmmaking
Storytelling has always been at the core of my passion for filmmaking. From the moment I first experimented with editing, I realized that the magic of cinema isn’t just in the shots we capture—it’s in how we shape them into something meaningful.
With a 25-year career as an Editor and Colorist, my path has been anything but conventional. I first gained recognition in 2010 for my work on Delicious Peace, an award-winning documentary that shed light on resilience and community. That project affirmed my belief that post-production isn’t just about assembling footage—it’s about giving stories the power to resonate.
Over the years, I’ve worked on everything from high-profile documentaries to network television, including Storms of Suspicion for The Weather Channel and Treehouse Masters for Animal Planet. I’ve contributed to industry publications like Apple’s Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro X and How Video Works: From Broadcast to the Cloud by Focal Press, furthering my commitment to the craft and its evolution.
Now, at 3Source Studios Inc., I continue to push the boundaries of editorial work, workflow engineering, and visual effects, blending technical precision with creative storytelling. Beyond the edit bay, I find inspiration in nature—hiking new trails with my family or capturing fleeting moments through photography.
Filmmaking, for me, is more than a profession; it’s a lifelong pursuit of storytelling, innovation, and artistic exploration.
